Have you ever heard of the saying, “anything in excess is bad?” Be careful as it is applicable for exercise, too.
Siloam Hospitals Jambi (SHJB)
Opening under Siloam brand in 2011, SHJB is the leading hospital in Jambi in the natural resource-rich central Sumatra. It’s prime location, next to the Sultan Thaha Airport, positions it to be an important referral centre for trauma services for the surrounding catchment areas.
Siloam invested US$18 million in the hospital which includes an extensive renovation to increase its capacity to 24 outpatient clinics, 109 beds, 3 Operating Theatres, a Haemodialysis Unit and an 24 hour Trauma Centre (UGD) as well as ample parking space. SHJB is now equipped with a Philips 64 slice CT-Scan, 1.5 Tesla MRI, Mammography and upgraded Laboratory facilities.
Based on the international best practice guidelines in relation to the American College of Emergency and the Australasian College of Emergency Model, our Trauma RMOs, nursing and paramedical staff have been trained to handle heart attacks, strokes and traumas. Each ambulance is fully staffed with an RMO, nurse and paramedic and equipped with AED (Automatic External Defibrillator to stop life threatening cardiac arrhythmias and reestablish an effective rhythm) and emergency kit to handle all emergencies. Located only 5 minutes from the Airport, this Trauma Centre is designated to serve patients from Jambi and its surrounding area that require urgent and immediate medical treatment as well as medical evacuation to Jakarta or in the region. Our 24 hour emergency number is 0741 – 573 911.
SHJB also benefits from the “Hub and Spoke” strategy of Siloam to extend the reach of our experienced specialists in our Siloam “Hub” Hospitals in Jakarta and Surabaya to the “Spoke” hospitals like SHJB. Through our investment in real-time Tele-medicine capability and Tele-radiology through digital radiology, patients in Jambi can have access to experienced specialists in clinical specialties not available there. Clinical information can be transferred through interactive audiovisual media to specialists in our Centres of Excellence (Hub) like SHLV, MRCCC, SHKJ and SHSB to provide consultations on a real time basis for diagnosis, treatment and sometimes procedures. This reduces cost and increases the community’s access to a wide range of highly specialized medical services.
