Have you ever heard of the saying, “anything in excess is bad?” Be careful as it is applicable for exercise, too.

SHKJ is conveniently located in West Jakarta, just off the Jakarta-Merak Toll Road. Presently, SHKJ has 197 beds, and is supported by 198 doctors and 255 nurses, with facilities catering to both inpatient and outpatient needs.
SHKJ has established a Centre of Excellence in Urology, a one-stop-service which offers a multidisciplinary approach to urology services, in particular prostate and kidney stones diseases. Its ESWL (Extracorporeal Shockwave Lithotripsy) machine offers a less painful way for blasting the kidney stones with shockwaves, a more sophisticated holmium machine for removing small stones or tumors and Green Light Laser for prostate surgery with almost no bleeding.
The Orthopaedic Centre offers prevention, diagnosis and treatment, and medical rehabilitation services for the musculoskeletal system, including Osteoarthritis and Osteoporosis. SHKJ is proud to offer the comprehensive Active Rehabilitation Center for back, neck, shoulder and knee disorders using Documentation Based Care (DBC) system from Finland.
As part of its continuing pursuit to offer a more comprehensive service to serve the needs in the west, SHKJ installed a state of the art Philips Cathlab to enhance its cardiology services. It is building a multi-disciplinary team of interventional cardiologists, rehabilitaion specialists, nutritionists and nurses to better serve the needs of the patients.
SHKJ also acts as Siloam “Hub” Hospitals in Orthopaedic, Urology, Cardiology and Radiology for our network of hospitals. Through our investment in real-time Tele-medicine capability and Tele-radiology through digital radiology, clinical information can be transferred through interactive audiovisual media to specialists in our Hub to provide consultations on a real time basis for diagnosis, treatment and sometimes procedures.
With the successful implementation of the American College of Emergency and also the Australasian College of Emergency Model in SHLV, SHKJ likewise transformed its emergency services to the same 24 hour International Standard Trauma Centre (UGD). Each ambulance is fully staffed with a fully trained RMO, nurse and paramedic and equipped to handle heart attack and stroke and traumas. In addition, SHKJ has piloted a successful Emergency Motorbike Advance Party to beat the heavy traffic in Jakarta to reach and stablise the patient while waiting for the ambulance. Our 24 hour emergency number is 500 911.
In 2007, SHKJ became the first hospital in Indonesia to use the most advanced Siemens Somatom Definition Dual Source Multi Slice CT Technology. A 1.5 Tesla MRI was also installed in 2007. A new state-of-the-art 250 bed hospital will be developed next to the current SHKJ premises, to meet the growing needs of the patients in the west and is scheduled for completion by third quarter of 2012.
SHKJ is one of the first hospitals in Indonesia to be ISO-accredited by ISO and is preparing itself for JCI Accreditation process in the near future.
